Slumber Party!

The boys love having their family come spend some time in Vernal. This weekend we were lucky to have Grandma Chambers and Adrianne and Livi come visit us again! It was so nice to have company to break up our long weekend! It was pretty mellow for having 5 kids in the house. We just hung out at the house most of the time. On Sunday I had the nursery kids make "fruit loop necklaces," and Caden and Hyrum were very eager to be able to make their own. We also did lots of coloring and driving cars. On Monday we went to the rec center and went swimming. The kids loved it! I haven't taken them since school has started. I just wish the water was warmer! Unfortunately I am a slacker and didn't get any pictures taken! :( Sad!

Valentine's Day the Kindergartener Way

I was able to help with Caden's V day party. I was a little worried about taking Hyrum and Ty with me and how "excited" they would be. But they were so great! It was very cute actually. They just became part of the class! It was no problem! :)

The party was pretty simple. The kids played games, made a craft, and decorated cookies! I was in charge of bingo, and the kids loved it! Instead of calling out numbers, there were cute pictures of Valentinesy things. Ty loved it, and he could find the pictures as well as some of the big kids! Hyrum stuck with Caden and their friend Brennen pretty close. It was fun to watch him interact, and not be intimidated at all! Boy they sure do grow up fast!

"Eat all the candy before Mom stops me!"

Nothing better than Chinese.. followed by cake and ice cream!

After we all visited Grandma Buck our family got together to celebrate Chelsa! It was great fun! The boys love spending time with their cousins! And of course you can't have too much birthday cake! We love Chels and this picture explains it all! Chels always includes the nieces and nephews! Well, now that I think about it, since Chelsa is so old.. she probably couldn't have done it without them! :)

Cousins!

I love this picture of all the kids (well, except for the chocolate still on Ty's face!) They are such great friends! I hope they can always stay so close!

Love ya Chels!

Helen Zbinden Buck

My Grandma Buck turned 100 this year! I am so happy that we were able to celebrate with her! We all have such special memories of Grandma Buck! Here are a few of mine.

- I loved going to her house for Halloween, we would always get the best popcorn balls!

- Grandma loves gardening, and would always brag about getting tomatoes before anyone else.

- She loves chocolates, and if we were lucky, she would share some on our weekly Sunday visits.

- I mowed her lawn for years and always got rewarded very well!

- She kept her batteries in the fridge.

- She loves Snickers ice cream bars.

- In her kitchen she has a picture of a man praying, it reminds her of her father.

- She had a big crush on Clarke Gable, and loves "Gone with the Wind".

- She claimed that she would be pregnant, and in her third trimester before anyone could tell.

- One year for my birthday she gave me miniature salt and pepper shakers.

- She knew her entire family's birthdays, without looking at a calendar.

- Nothing meant more to Grandma then getting a card in the mail.

- She loved her fingernails painted, but was very particular about the length and style of her nails.

- Her given name was Helena. Her father called her "Lena". While I find it adorable, my Grandmother hated it.

In 2005, before I started nursing school I would spend 2 mornings a week with Grandma. I helped her pay her bills, correspond with old friends, bribe her to eat her "meals on wheels" but the thing I loved most was listening to her stories. She told me about how she met Grandpa Buck on her mission, the times she fell off her horse, dancing with other men because Grandpa favored watching. How she survived scarlet fever, as well as a brain tumor. It was a wonderful time in my life! I am so grateful that I was able to spend that extra time with my Grandmother and get to know her better! She always shared her testimony and challenged me to expand mine!

Caden and Hyrum also have special memories of Grandma Buck. They spent a lot of time with her before they came to live with Josh and I. Hyrum used to make a hilarious impersonation of how Grandma Buck walked. Caden and Hyrum are always excited to go visit her. They are so sweet with her, asking how she is and kissing her cheek!

We love you Grandma!!

Lifesavers and more Dinos

Somehow Josh and I were convinced to talk in Sacrament meeting.. and luckily my parents came and made it possible. They were able to come up on Saturday so they could spend some time with us other than at church. It was a nice day! We had a Josh style birthday celebration. Which consists of anything that isn't a big deal. Afterwards, Josh would have been more than happy to stay home and sharpen knives (with his new knife sharpener) but we convinced him to go to the Dinosaur Museum with us. It was really nice for the boys to get out and play with Grandma and Grandpa. We have been shut inside a lot lately since it has been so cold! It never gets old looking at all the fossils and dinosaur bones! Then Grandma and Grandpa let Josh and I hit the town for a little bit. Some shopping at Walmart and picking up dinner without kids tagging along sure seems like heaven!
Thanks so much Mom and Dad for helping us out! I am sure my bawl fest wouldn't have happened if the boys had been with someone else! We love you!

Mini Road Trip to Roosevelt

Lucky for us there is a school not to far away that causes Chelsa and Cami to come in our direction every once in a while. The Carbon Lady Dinos came to shoot hoops with Union High. Josh was at work so it was just me and the boys. But as you can see from the pics.. they basically had the time of their life! Luckily they had the coolest kidsmeal toys! And any time the pep band played they were up dancing! It was very cute! So nice that they were entertained for the most part! The boys loved seeing the game, and feeling the adrenaline that comes with sports. Caden kept asking me if Cami's team was winning. It was such a fun night! Hopefully it will become an annual game night! (Hint hint Chels!)
