Isn't she so cute! She is the friendliest, sweetest horse and I am happy to say she is mine! I am afraid I won't be riding her much til next spring though. ;)

Ogden in June

At the end of June, the boys and I made a trip out to Ogden for several days. It was so nice to get out of the house and have something new for the kids to do. We stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Roberts for the first couple of days. It was nice and relaxing. We ended up going for a hike up Waterfall Canyon. Now, I figured that Grandpa would take us for a little bit, seeing as we had the boys with us. But no, we went the entire way. It was beautiful, and there was so much water. But both the boys and I weren't planning on such a long excursion. They loved the way up, climbing up the rocks. But they were ready to be done by the time we reached the top. Grandpa ended up carrying Ty most the way back. We made it, and we all survived. But next time, I will know better, and not expect Grandpa to take it easy on the kiddos!

It was a great hike, and we had fun. I am afraid I was a little hot and cranky! (Like sooo hot!) But thanks Grandma and Grandpa for taking us. It was worth it!

The next few days we spent in North Ogden with Josh's family. I didn't get any pictures, but the boys had a fantastic time swimming, going to the park, playing basketball, and riding bikes. I had a fabulous time window shopping with Rachelle! Oh and I made a killing in bottled fruit! Thanks Miriam!

The boys love it when we go out to Ogden! They miss being able to spend so much time with our families! It doesn't matter what we do, it is always a blast!

Ty's Birthday

I love love this picture of the boys! (I know it's not a great photo but I love their smiles!) Unfortunately, it is the only one of Ty's birthday that I have. We were in Ogden for the marathon relay, and didn't really have a special party. I took this picture on his birthday, but Josh was at work, so I didn't really make a big deal out of it.

Ty is such a sweet boy! He loves playing with his brothers, and is always sad when they are not around. He loves to help me in the kitchen. Ty is just like his dad, and has a special way with animals. Ty will go out in the field with the 3 horses and just be with them. I know that is scary, but they are so good to him, and are so gentle when he is around. He is a momma's boy and always likes to be in the same room as me. He is very caring and always concerned when someone is hurt or sad! He loves to drive trucks WITH a trailer and wants to have a remote control helicopter like his dad.

Hyrum's Preschool Graduation

For those of you who don't know Hyrum can be very very stubborn. First of all, he refused to wear the cap and gown. Ok, fine.. no big deal. But then he refused to go sit up front with his classmates. I had to force him to atleast go sit up on the front row with his teacher. Finally, I told him if he didn't sit up front, he wouldn't get a brownie. He was convinced enough, he went after they started singing. He always surprises me when he randomly is shy. So after all the effort to get him up there. He was so cute and fun to watch singing the songs. He is funny, he won't sing for you if you ask him, but he does sing quite often to himself. If you are lucky you can catch a few words!

Hyrum was grown and learned so much this year in preschool! He learned to love reading, writing, and coloring. Things he was never really interested in before. I just can't say enough about Mrs. Kirsten! I think she has been so wonderful with Hyrum, I wish Caden would have been able to learn from her as well!

Caden's Kindergarten Program

Caden's "Proud to be American" program was great! He would sing the patriotic songs all day long. His favorite was "Yankee Doodle"! They had such cute actions to go with each song. He is so funny sometimes! He was all convinced that he needed to take our red/white/blue soccer ball to add to the decorations hanging onstage! :)

I couldn't have asked for Caden to have a better school year. I am most proud of his behavior. I don't know what Mrs. Perez did, but I sure wish I could implement it at home sometimes! He loved going to school, and was always so excited to tell me all the things he learned. He is a stupendous reader and hopefully next year will work out just as well!

On another note... it is times like these that I really hate being married to a tall person. I wanted to get there early, and get a good seat so I could see. Josh, on the other hand, has no problems seeing anything. So we didn't get there early, and I could only see Caden if I leaned way over to the left! It's so annoying to be short sometimes!

Ra, Amber, Cami, Chels, Linds, and Dad

One of my goals this year was to run 5 miles in the Ogden Marathon Relay. I am happy to say that I did it! And I did it well! (Atleast for me!) I ran the whole 5 miles. My leg was a little longer, and I walked after I hit the fifth mile for a bit because my knees were hurting. I also ran within my hour time frame that I wanted too! Yippee!

Everyone did fantastic! Dad ran the first leg, then Amber, me, Ryan (aka the speedster), and Chels, with her support team consisting of Ra, Cami, and all the people at the finish line. Cami, snuck in and ran the last half of the marathon as well. I love the marathon and all the hoopla that goes along with it. I love spending time with my family and everyone working towards the same goal. I love, love it!

Hopefully next year we will be able to get two relay teams together. A walking team and a running team. So everyone plan on it! That means you Mom!

Soccer Buddies!

This spring both Caden and Hyrum were able to play soccer. Lucky for Mom, Hyrum was able to play up and be on the same team as Caden! I love watching the boys play sports. It takes me back to the good ol' days when my mother was the loudest, most supportive, sideline coach during my games. I definitely have a little bit of Jan in me! I am loud too! I just can't help it. :)

At first Hyrum was pretty intimidated by being the smallest and youngest on the team. In fact, the first few games the only reason he played was so could get the treat after! But by the end of the season he kept up with the rest of them! He even scored a goal! (It was on the wrong side of the field, but hey, it still counts!)

Caden also really developed as a player. He learned to be more willing to go after the ball, and to not sit back and wait for it! Once he discovered that he got to kick the ball more that way, he scored as well. And was close a couple other times! He really did well I am proud of the improvements he made!

Josh was able to see our last game. It was so fun for the boys to have him there, cheering them on! It was their best game! I love spending time when we can all be together as a family!
