Fantasy Canyon with Ann and Jody

Jump to June.

Josh's aunt Ann, and her partner Jody, came out to visit. We had a splendid time! The boys love spending time with Ann and Jody, and are usually pretty spoiled. Josh took us to explore Fantasy Canyon. I think he planned this just so he could show Ann "the patch". I am not sure why it is called "the patch", but that is what the locals call the massive area where the natural gas and oil wells are located. While Josh was working for Savage he was "out in the patch". :) Anyways, back to Fantasy Canyon. It is very small, but was pretty amazing. It probably would've been more amazing if it weren't so blasted hot! But, we had fun despite the heat.

Jody and the boys.

Josh and Jace. I can't remember what this formation was called.
But it reminds me of the alien on MIB. :)

More of Ann and the boys.

The whole "canyon". It really isn't at big as it looks. Love the sky!

Attempt at family picture. Can you see how we are melting?

I didn't get pictures from the rest of the visit. But Ann & Jody took us out on the town! They took us to a local restaurant  and bought boys toys from the gift shop, and supplied us with ice cream.

At dinner, I think we actually scared Ann and Jody away, and they won't be out for a long time! Ty was just recovering from a flu bug, and then I think he got heat exhaustion from our Fantasy adventure. So while we were at dinner, he kept having to run to the restroom because he was nauseous. Jace was fussy and tired.. not a good combination while out to eat! The boys were really well behaved, but it was just a little chaotic! Luckily Ty didn't actually do the deed until we were in the parking lot.. which I was soo happy about! And I think Jody as well!

The next day we loaded up trusty Rapid and headed to the local arena. Ann reminisced about Grandpa Laurel and her younger days when she rode horses. She actually surprised us all and took Rapid for a ride. It was a grand time! The boys played amazingly well, trying to trap each other in the rodeo pens. Jody, always on the look out for animals, expressed her concern with Rapid and the heat! :) And I got to ride for the first time in a while! It was very fun! Oh and have I mentioned that I love watching my Cowboy ride!

It was a great weekend! Thanks for the visit Ann and Jody!
